As if two Convergences weren’t enough this summer, today marks the crux of a Grand Cross alignment of the planets, as well as a Full Moon and a Lunar Eclipse! Today is a significant day of transition moving forward toward December 21st, 2012. We are beginning to witness the beginning of the end as the energy continues to ramp up its pace. What a year it has been so far! Looking back, we’ve had an incredible series of Full Moons, Eclipses, a powerful Convergence, and it’s not over yet! Today, June 26, lies right in the center of these cosmic alignments, and is a milestone on our journey towards the new Earth.
So first of all, what exactly is this alignment, and what does it represent?
The alignment is called the “Grand Cross” and represents the alignment of all nine planets (here at the Astrarium, we still consider Pluto a planet). This alignment happens once every 5,125 years, and thus completes a grand cycle. Coincidence that this should happen right around the time of the Mayan calendar ending? It is becoming difficult to refute that something grand is at work these days. We are not here to try to convince you of this however, only to offer pertinent information for those who are open to it.
Our solar system is our home in the cosmos, our little neighborhood in which we reside. Were it not for the perfect arrangement of planets, the proper size and age of our sun, the location of Jupiter and a thousand other details, Life on Earth would be impossible. But yet, against the odds, we thrive here. There is something truly magical about this, something we mustn’t take for granted. And so, when the planets line up in this cross formation, it would be wise to take notice, even if just to marvel at the wonders of this magnificent Universe we’re traveling through.
Stop and think for just a moment. You’re sitting at your computer, in your home, school or office. You are situated on a land mass that floats on a thriving globe of water, fire, earth and air, a living breathing organism of which you are an essential part. This organism makes daily rotations as it slowly revolves around a giant star, placed just perfectly away from us so as to give us light. And around us are eight other planets that also revolve around this fiery giant. This group of celestial bodies slowly makes its way around a spiral galaxy, and as of next year our Earth will be directly opposed to the center of our galaxy. Beyond the borders of our galaxy are billions more, in an expanding Universe that seems to have no beginning and no end. Can you believe it?

So yes, consider for a moment your outer surroundings, what is going on “out there” far beyond our comprehension. Energies are at work in this Universe that are directly affecting our Life experience at this time. Something to think about!
And what does this all mean? Well, many have been talking about the significance of eclipses- of the upcoming galaxy eclipse as well as the lunar and solar eclipses we’ll experience. An eclipse represents the lack of something, a blockage of energies. Indeed, at the culmination of this alignment, the energy of our Moon will be blocking the energies of the Sun as well as the nine planets!
Without delving too deeply into Astrology, which is entirely another subject, this is particularly significant. Each of the planets represent a specific energy, and just as their physical gravity has an effect on the Earth, their energetic resonance affects us on the subtler levels, which is what Astrology is all about. So to completely be devoid of these energies while they are making this cosmic Cross formation certainly represents a significant time of transition for our planet.
It is becoming more and more clear these days that Life on Earth is changing. The old paradigms, systems and structures are no longer working. Our way of living is entirely unsustainable and the current systems keep individuals shackled to their 9-5 lifestyles, which is NOT what Life is supposed to be about. People are starving all over the world while 1% of individuals horde ridiculous amounts of money. The Earth is being destroyed and animals are being terribly mistreated, while most of the population is fed cancerous food and harmful chemicals, not to mention the social programming included in TV, movies, music and more. This type of world no longer serves us, indeed it never has, and it is time for a change. Mother Earth is reacting and causing violent earthquakes, tsunamis, and other natural disasters. These events will only intensify until we get the message. The energies streaming into the Earth this year are picking up the pace, declaring a time of rapid transformation from the old into the new. If we want to continue living on this planet, we need to begin living consciously, sustainably, in harmony with our brothers and sisters and with our Mother. So heed the message of Mother Earth and of our sister planets in the solar system!
As the old world continues to fall, we’ll be noticing (and creating!) new ways of living, new ways of being that support harmony and growth for all individuals and for the collective. That is what this alignment, these convergences, and all these cosmic events are about. It’s about a rebirth, removing the old to make way for the new.
As we’ve described in energy forecasts and previous astrological articles, these types of events can be incredibly disturbing. This year has been a roller-coaster ride of energy, with new energy surging in as old energy is being released. What a wild ride it has been! And yet it is very much not over yet. In fact, as of today, it has begun in an entirely new way.
These occurrences will intensify over the next year and a half, reaching their climax at the end of 2012. Afterward, the transition will continue until 2028, which marks the end of the 40 year period that began at the Harmonic Convergence of 1988. We’re right in the middle of it right now, and so we can expect the rapid destabilization of society as we know it over the next months and years.
A relevant example is this BP oil spill disaster. Any way you spin it, this is dire news for society as we know it. And yet people all over are going about their lives as if everything will be fine. Things are destabilizing rapidly and we can no longer deny it. The ocean and marine life have been severely damaged, and there are whispers of widespread crop damage due to toxic rain. Is there no end to the damage caused by this spill? Now is the time to really make changes to the way we live and the way we interact with our fellow humans and our Earth.
Use this time of alignment as a period to focus within, to start restructuring your Life to be more in harmony with the Earth. Let go of beliefs and patterns that are no longer serving you, and begin stepping into a new way of being. In so doing, you step in line with those conscious individuals who are working to ease this transition and make it perhaps less cataclysmic. Indeed, there is no need for us to learn in this way unless we choose to. It is very sad to see these events occurring around the world, even though they do represent powerful transformation and transmutation of energies on the Earth. It is our choice to learn through suffering, or to wake up and learn through the light.
In the middle of this alignment period is June 26th, a full moon and partial lunar eclipse. It is likely your life will turn upside down in some way on this day, unless you are really flowing with the changes. Things are beginning to move in ways we can hardly keep up with. Do your best to remain detached from the situation, whatever it may be. Clinging to what’s left will only make the rest of the alignment less comfortable.
The conclusion of the alignment on July 11th is likely to be uncomfortable as well, particularly with the solar eclipse. The effects of this time will last until early August, at which point a new planetary formation will occur. As if all this isn’t enough, another Convergence is happening in July, on the 17th and 18th. July will certainly be an intense time of movement and transformation, though it won’t all be negative. If you’ve been doing your homework and working with the new energies that have been available this year, you will find your new plans coming to fruition quite brightly during this time, carried along by the wave of cosmic energy being poured upon the planet. Even as the old world is being torn down, we must begin to create the new one, and that means harnessing your personal talents for the good of the collective.
We hope all this does not sound too scary to you. Yes indeed, it is a very intense time, but it also means better times are ahead. This rapid release of the old makes way for the very new. Unimaginably new. We can’t possibly understand how wonderful the new world will be.
