Let’s take a journey through the chakras, exploring the best of a wide variety of healing music. From singing bowls to chanting and mystical rhythms, these artists will have your chakras open and flowing with energy in no time at all.
We love music of all types here at The Astrarium, but we have a particular soft spot for Sound Healing and anything to do with chakras. We have over a dozen chakra themed CDs in our collection and here we’ll feature 7 of the best – one track for each chakra. Read on, listen to the sounds, and consider purchasing an album or two from these talented musicians! It helps us (find out how!) and supports some of our favorite artists!
Root Chakra – Pacha Mama
by Elliot Diamond
Let’s begin by activating our root chakra. This chakra is our grounding connection to this physical reality, to the Earth and to nature. Elliot Diamond has beautifully captured this energy in his track “Pacha Mama” from his CD Dance of the Seven Chakras. We find music and rhythm is a wonderful doorway into the transcendent, and this CD is filled with fantastic sounds that wonderfully embody each chakra. Unlike most chakra CDs, this one does not feature the chanting of a certain syllable, or a certain crystal energy for each chakra. Instead, Elliot Diamond taps into the feeling of each chakra and allows a more organic composition to flow out. We don’t mean to say there’s anything wrong with the other CDs, each are wonderful in their own way, but just that this one is quite unique and worth mentioning.

Feel the pulsing rhythm of the Earth beneath you, supporting you, breathing Life into you. Watch the four petals of your root chakra open, and let your roots sink deep into the soil. Allow these roots to carry any old or negative energies you may be holding deep into the Earth. Our beautiful Pacha Mama will transmute them for you. When this feels complete, begin drawing divine energy up from the Earth, letting it fill you up with light. At the same time, feel your grounded connection to physical reality, and allow your thoughts to subside, safe and secure on the Earth.

Like what you hear? Dance of the Seven Chakras is a wonderful journey through the archetypes.
We also enjoy Elliot’s Shamanic CDs In Between the Worlds and Niche Tai Tai
, which he has created with the Four Winds Society who have brought the rites of the Munay-Ki to the west.
Sacral Chakra – Svadhisthana
by Robin Silver
Next we’ll move up to the sacral chakra, the orange center of water which connects us with our emotions and our sensuality. Robin Silver’s flute piece Svadhisthana evokes the Kundalini serpent rising through this chakra in a mystifying dance. This track is hypnotic and very sensual indeed. It appears on the album Chakra Healing Zone by David and Steve Gordon, among other Sequoia artists. This CD has a nice variety of tracks, but this is easily the best track. If you like the flute music, you will likely enjoy Robin’s solo CD Full Moon, Hollow Bone
which has some lovely flute pieces.

Feel the rhythms of your own body and the subtle rise of energy through your second chakra. Let it rise playfully to the hypnotic rhythms of the flute. Let yourself flow on the river of Life, allowing it to take you where it will. Watch as the six petals of your orange sacral chakra open, and let the waters rush over you, taking with them anything that no longer serves you. Let these waters calm your emotions, smoothing your worries as a river does the stones. Feel your feminine and masculine energies come into balance, into a perfect union in this chakra. Be comfortable in your body and follow its rhythm. Allow this energy to feed you and take you even higher.

Like what you hear? We highly recommend Silver’s solo flute album Full Moon, Hollow Bone
. It does not include the track Svadhisthana from Chakra Healing Zone

Solar Chakra – Sound Medicine
by Dr. Jane Maati Smith
The solar chakra is our yellow center of fire, of personal will, ambition and manifestation. It represents our passion and our service to the world. This track by Dr. Jane Maati Smith from Sound Medicine for Chakra Balancing has Solfeggio brainwave frequencies crystal singing bowls that match the vibrations of the solar chakra. We’ll share some other singing bowl music in this article, but this one is quite unique. The sound is very pure and we find it’s quite easy to get lost in it. There are no chants or changing rhythms, just the continuous hum of the singing bowl. This track is ideal for meditation and any kind of healing work.

As the energies continue to rise, allow them to set aflame your solar chakra. Feel your passion and will expand with the flame. This is a wonderful place to work from if you’re setting intentions or working to manifest something. The powerful, active energy of fire is also very mental and intellectual. Fire, used with intention, can create as well as destroy. Bring your solar energies into balance, allowing the 10 petals of this chakra to open and flood you with the light of ten thousand suns. Filled with the heat and intensity of your passion and desire, allow old beliefs and patterns to be transmuted in the flame. Then use the fire to begin manifesting your dreams, consciously willing your new reality into being.

Heart Chakra – Compassion
by Ben Scott & Christa Michell
In the center of the chakra system we reach the heart, the green chakra of love and compassion. The element of this chakra is air, that which connects and sustains us all. The pure resonance of this flute and singing bowl piece bathes us in the energy of love. Tibetan Chakra Meditations has 14 tracks, with 6 more like this one, and 7 that are singing bowl only. The whole CD is incredibly relaxing, and will transport you to a place of peace and tranquility.

The energies of the Earth and the divine energies from Sky mix in the heart, the central chakra which connects us to each other and to the collective. Allow your heart to expand, to fill with light and love for all beings. Watch the twelve petals of the heart chakra open one by one, perhaps sending loving energy to twelve special people in your life. Breathe deeply, giving thanks for the air that sustains us and the love that inspires us. Continue to breathe as you raise the energy up from your lower chakras to your heart and beyond. Prepare yourself to move upward to the higher chakras through this center of the heart, which is now open and alive with the energy of love.

The crown chakra of this CD is one of the most transcendent songs we’ve ever heard!
Throat Chakra – Vishuddha
by Paul Lawler
Moving up to the throat chakra, the blue center of space, communication, clarity and wisdom, we are offered the opportunity to let our voices ring true. True Chakras is another fantastic album, using a variety of organic sounds, chanting, and instruments to provide a unique chakra experience. This track blends deep chanting with relaxing music and peaceful sounds.

The throat chakra, opposite your solar chakra, is another center for the divine expression of YOU. As the energy moves up to this blue center of communication, allow your voice to be expressed. You may like to chant along with this track or perhaps do some toning. Chant OM or your favorite syllable. Let any blocks in this chakra be removed by the pure energy of your voice and the element of space. Let the divine energies flow through you and out of you. Your voice is the breath of your soul, your personal expression in this world. The throat chakra also governs abstract thought and intellectual concepts. It is an ideal place to work from for coming up with new plans that express your personal vision. Open the sixteen petals of your throat chakra, which represent the sixteen syllables of the Sanskrit language, and let the blue light flow through your energy system.

Like what you hear? True Chakras
offers a unique voyage through the chakra system that is not to be missed, with very interesting blends of sound and energy.
Third Eye Chakra – Indigo Vision
by Jonathan Goldman
We come to rest at the third eye, the indigo center of visions, insight, and deep knowing. The third eye track from Jonathan Goldman’s Crystal Bowls Chakra Chants album blends crystal singing bowls with deep chanting, attuned to the frequency of the third eye. Close your eyes and let the sounds bathe you in indigo light. If you’re not familiar with Jonathan Goldman
, you should be. He has released over 20 sound healing CDs, each unique and incredibly peaceful. This CD is one of several that focuses on the chakra system.

The third eye is your portal to psychic sensitivity, to visions and sounds from out there in the ethers. As the energy travels up to this center on your forehead, allow your third eye to open and activate. As the two petals of this chakra open, you find yourself opening up to the inner world around you, totally aware of yourself and your surroundings. Allow yourself to be inspired by the visions of the third eye, for inspiration, problem solving, or creative manifestation. Get back in touch with your divine guidance and inner knowing, and allow intuition to help you through the challenges in your daily life. As your third eye opens, allow the indigo light to flood your body and fill you with its unique energy.

is another of his many masterpieces in Sound Healing.
We also highly recommend Frequencies, Chakra Chants

Crown Chakra – Be Still
by Sophia
The crown chakra is your center of divine connection, the purple or white center of pure wisdom from which divine light pours into your being. Sophia’s track Be Still from her CD Chakra Healing Chants embodies this energy beautifully, in a different way than the CDs we’ve covered so far. She chants “Be Still, and Know that I Am God”. This track is a relaxing repose that reminds us of our true divine nature, as the background sounds gently balance our feminine and masculine energies. This track brings us into balance. The rest of the CD has great chants for each chakra from a variety of traditions, culminating in “Integration: The Beginning” which is incredibly beautiful. This album is highly recommended.

As you reach the crown chakra, allow the energies from the Earth to burst forth from the crown of your head, pouring around you in a waterfall of light. Divine energy descends from the sky through your crown, flooding the lower chakras with healing light. See the energies coming from above and below mixing in your body, enveloping you in a fountain of this energy. Allow divine wisdom and healing to come through your crown chakra and inform the rest of your chakras. Allow your whole energetic body to come into balance as you relax in your new found inner knowing. Watch as the thousand petaled lotus of your crown chakra opens and becomes activated. Stay in this fountain for as long as you wish, soaking up this beautiful energy.

Like what you hear? Sophia is truly a Goddess of healing music, and Chakra Healing Chants
is a great introduction to her work.
We also recommend her CD Return for some more beautiful chanting.
