As we march ever closer to the 2012 Solstice, our lives continue to ramp up in speed and frequency. 2010 was an incredible year of transformation, ushering in a great deal of new energy in the form of planetary alignments, eclipses, and convergences. In 2011 we must take the next step in humanity’s evolution. Now is the time for action.

Every New Years we say goodbye to the old parts of ourselves we wish to leave behind. This year this release is especially important. In 2011 we continue to pick up the pace, we continue racing forward towards the crux of the great shift we find ourselves right in the middle of. It’s time to apply all that you’ve learned in 2010, to declare your intentions for what you’d like to accomplish, and to start taking steps toward those goals.

Energetically, at the end of the year, we’re allowed a very powerful opportunity to release our past and step forward into a new future. As we begin a new year alongside the collective consciousness, we get to decide what that new year will be like for us. It’s as simple as deciding what you’d like to let go of, and setting your intentions for what you’d like to create anew. Then you step into that space with your whole being- believing, feeling, and living the new reality. Cast aside thoughts and patterns from the old reality, and deal with challenges to your new system as they arise, knowing that you can move through them and achieve your dreams with focus and determination.

So whether you’re reading this on New Years Eve or several days into 2011, you can still make a change in your life. Set aside some time when you won’t be disturbed, and relax or meditate as you feel guided. Start thinking about your ideal future. What kind of career or relationship are you involved in? Where are you and what are you doing? What is your vision for the planet and the collective as a whole? And what steps can you take – today – to start making this vision a reality? You’ll be delighted to hear that the Universe has got your back at this time. Your vision will be supercharged with the intense waves of the Quickening that is taking place at this very moment.

2011 is bound to be an intense year, with further upheavals in the social and economic realms. We will undoubtedly experience further Earth changes, intense spiritual experiences and awakenings, and insights that guide us toward our goals. While this year will certainly be a wild and transformational one, it also has the potential to be quite beautiful. Remember that you are the captain guiding your ship through the storm. This is one big dream and you alone decide what happens in the dream.

This year has a number of significant dates to watch out for, turning points in our evolution, dates on which we can focus our energy and intentions. As we learn from Carl Johan Calleman’s interpretations of the Mayan Calendars, we are responsible as individuals and as a collective for the fate of Earth. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for, the ones who will choose between utopia and apocalypse. Now is the time to start setting intentions for the new world. Yet intention-setting alone isn’t enough. It’s very important that we begin building the foundations of that new world, and that means taking action. These action steps take place at certain times, convergences of energy predicted by the Mayan Calendars.

Calleman has illuminated that it is not only one calendar ending in the near future, but nine. Nine waves of evolution all lead up to October 28th, 2011. Each wave is shorter than the last and corresponds to a higher order of human potential. For example, the 7th wave is associated with Planetary consciousness, beginning in 1498 and ending in 2011. Curious that this wave begins just after Columbus discovered America. The 8th wave, associated with Galactic consciousness, is far shorter. It began on March 14th, 1986, just before the Harmonic Convergence, and also ends in 2011. The Ninth and final wave, associated with Unity consciousness, begins on March 9th, 2011.

So what does this mean? Calleman has shared his theory on these enigmatic dates. His take on the calendars is that 2012, (or this general time period) is one of transformation, pure and simple. The calendars do not predict apocalypse or utopia outright. It is up to the people of Earth to state their intentions either way, and to begin working toward the society they wish to see. So Calleman is urging individuals to begin setting their intentions for Unity consciousness as we approach March 2011, and to begin taking practical steps toward this goal.

All nine waves of the calendar end on October 28th, 2011, according to Calleman’s interpretation. This means we only have a short window in which to realize this goal, to take advantage of this unique opportunity for Unity consciousness. This is not a reason for fear or worry. It simply means now is the time to act on our intentions.

Unity consciousness sounds like a distant goal, but the concept is really very simple. You can begin by learning to love yourself and others more deeply. Try to understand things from other people’s point of view, from a global point of view. Understand the effect we are having on the Earth as a collective and how we can reduce our footprint. Start envisioning your version of an improved society, and take small steps toward reaching that goal. These changes don’t need to happen overnight. What’s important is that we start making progress, start making it clear that the people of Earth desire Unity and a peaceful society.

So as you’re writing your New Year’s resolutions, and thinking about what you’d like to achieve in 2011, keep Unity in mind. And remember that in these incredibly intense times, we are more empowered than ever to manifest powerfully. All you need to do is make your intentions clear, and work steadily towards your goals. May the magical winds of 2011 sweep you gracefully to your destination.
